Pagebird Terms of Use

Effective date: 20 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Atakli Store ("we", "us"), the developer of Pagebird, a document scanner app for Android. They cover the app, Pagebird Pro and the website pagebird.web.app. By installing or using Pagebird you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.

1. What Pagebird is

Pagebird turns paper into PDF and image files on your phone. It finds page edges, cleans up images, reads printed text with on-device OCR, and includes PDF tools such as merge, split and compress. Scanning uses the Google Play services document scanner, so Pagebird needs a device with Google Play services. There is no account. Your documents are stored only on your device.

2. Licence to use the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Pagebird on Android devices you own or control, for private or internal business use, in line with these terms and the Google Play Terms of Service. You may not:

  • copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
  • remove copyright or other notices, or use the Pagebird name or icon to suggest that we endorse you;
  • use the app to break the law or the rights of others, for example to forge, alter or counterfeit official documents, IDs, banknotes or signatures, or to copy material you have no right to copy.

Open-source components in the app are licensed under their own licences, listed in Settings → Licenses.

3. Your documents

Everything you scan, import or create in Pagebird belongs to you (or to whoever owns it). We claim no rights over it and never receive it. You are responsible for:

  • having the right to scan, copy, store and share the documents you use with Pagebird;
  • keeping your own backups. Uninstalling the app, clearing its storage, or losing or resetting your phone deletes your documents, and we cannot recover them. Use "Export library" to make a backup file;
  • what you do with files you share or export.

Signatures. The signing tool places an image of your handwritten signature on a PDF. It is not a qualified or certified electronic signature. Whether a signed document is legally valid depends on the law and on the recipient.

OCR and processing. Text recognition, edge detection, filters and compression can make mistakes. Always check important documents (contracts, IDs, medical, legal or financial papers) before you rely on them or send them.

4. Free features

Scanning, unlimited pages, editing, organizing, merge, split, preset compression, single-page text recognition, PDF and JPG export, sharing, printing and backup are free with no limits and no watermark. They will stay free. There are no ads.

5. Pagebird Pro

Pagebird Pro unlocks extra features, such as searchable PDFs, full-text search, whole-document text export, signing, password protection, compressing to a target size, ID card layouts, batch export and app lock. The current list is shown in the app. Pro is sold through Google Play as the following plans. Not every plan is shown to every user; the plans available to you are shown in the app before you buy:

  • Pro Yearly: an auto-renewing subscription billed once a year;
  • Pro Monthly: an auto-renewing subscription billed once a month;
  • Pro Weekly (offered only to some users, when the app shows it): an auto-renewing subscription billed once a week;
  • Pro Lifetime: a one-time purchase, not a subscription (section 7).

Prices are shown in the app and in the Google Play purchase window before you buy, in your local currency and including any taxes Google Play applies. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Prices can differ between countries.

Payment. Google Play charges the payment method in your Google account when you confirm the purchase. Payments, receipts and billing are handled by Google under the Google Play Terms of Service. We never see your payment details.

6. Subscriptions: renewal, cancellation and refunds

Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (a year, a month or a week) at the price then in effect, and Google Play charges you again, unless you cancel before the renewal date. Google Play may charge a renewal up to 48 hours before the new billing period starts, so cancel at least 48 hours before the renewal date if you do not want to be charged again.

How to cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play: open the Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Pagebird → Cancel subscription. Settings → Manage subscription in Pagebird opens the same page. You can also cancel at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.

After you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then it ends. No further payments are taken.

Free trials and introductory prices. If we offer a free trial or a discounted introductory price, the paywall and Google Play show its length, the price during the offer, the regular price afterwards and the date the regular price starts, before you confirm. Unless you cancel before the offer ends, the subscription continues at the regular price; because Google Play may charge up to 48 hours before a billing period starts, cancel at least 48 hours before the offer ends to be sure you are not charged. Offers are available only to eligible Google accounts, as decided by Google Play.

Price changes. If the price of your subscription changes, Google Play will tell you in advance, and where Google Play or the law requires it, ask for your agreement. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the new price applies.

Payment problems. If a renewal payment fails, Google Play may give you a grace period to fix the payment method and may then put the subscription on hold. Pro features may pause until payment succeeds.

Switching plans. If you change from Monthly to Yearly, Google Play credits the unused time according to its proration rules. If you buy Lifetime while a subscription is active, cancel the subscription in Google Play so that it stops renewing.

Refunds. Purchases are handled by Google Play, so refunds follow the Google Play refund policy. You can request a refund through Google Play (play.google.com → your account → Order history, or the Google Play Help Center). Within 48 hours of a purchase, Google can often refund directly. After that, you can also write to us at ataklistore@gmail.com with your order number (it starts with "GPA."). We review every request fairly and can refund through Google Play where its rules allow. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the refund or withdrawal rights that the law of your country gives you. In the EU, the UK and Türkiye, Google Play's checkout tells you how the right of withdrawal applies to digital content and services that start immediately.

Restoring purchases. If you reinstall the app or move to a new phone, use Settings or the paywall → "Restore purchases" while signed in to the same Google account.

7. Pro Lifetime: lifetime means lifetime

Pro Lifetime is a one-time payment. It is not a subscription, it never renews and it is never charged again. It unlocks Pro for the Google account that bought it, on every Android device where you use Pagebird with that account.

Our commitment to Lifetime owners:

  1. We will never turn a Lifetime purchase into a subscription, and we will never ask Lifetime owners for an extra payment to keep the features they bought.
  2. We will never remove a Pro feature from Lifetime owners while it is available to subscribers. If a feature has to change, for example because Android or Google Play changes, Lifetime owners get the same replacement as subscribers.
  3. Lifetime includes the Pro features we add in the future. If we ever offer something with ongoing costs of its own, such as an optional cloud service, it will be clearly separate and optional. Nothing that is part of Pro will move into it.
  4. If we ever stop developing Pagebird, we will announce it in the app and on our website at least 90 days in advance. Before we stop, we will release a final version in which your documents and your Pro features keep working on your device without our servers, as far as Android and Google Play technically allow.

"Lifetime" means for as long as Pagebird is offered and supported as described above, not the lifetime of a particular device. A Lifetime purchase can end only if Google refunds or reverses the payment (for example after a refund or a chargeback), or in the case of fraud.

8. If Pro ends

If your subscription ends or a purchase is refunded, the Pro features stop working, but your documents are never locked. Everything you created, including searchable PDFs, signed and password-protected files, stays on your device and can still be viewed, shared and exported with the free features.

9. Third-party services

Pagebird relies on services from other companies, including Google Play, Google Play services (ML Kit document scanner) and RevenueCat. Your use of Google Play is governed by Google's terms. We are not responsible for outages or changes of those services, but we will try to keep the app working when they change.

10. Updates and availability

We may update Pagebird to fix bugs, improve features, or meet legal and Google Play requirements. Some updates may be needed for the app to keep working. Free features listed in section 4 will stay free. Subject to section 7, we may change or discontinue other features. If we remove a feature that subscribers have paid for during a billing period, we will offer a fair solution, such as a partial refund.

11. Warranty disclaimer

We work hard to make Pagebird reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for a particular purpose, or that OCR, compression or other processing will be accurate. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, including any legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, documents, profit or business, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to Pagebird is limited to the amount you paid for Pagebird Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or your rights under mandatory consumer protection law.

13. Ending these terms

You can stop using Pagebird at any time by uninstalling it. Cancel any subscription in Google Play first (section 6). We may end or suspend your licence if you seriously break these terms. This does not affect your right to a refund where the law gives you one.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the app, our offers or the law change. The effective date at the top shows the current version. For important changes, we will tell you in the app before they take effect. Changes never reduce the commitments in section 7 for purchases you have already made. If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country. Consumers in Türkiye can also apply to consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts. Consumers in the EU can use the online dispute resolution options available to them in their country. Please contact us first, because most problems can be solved quickly by email.
